Leadership Advisory Committee (Division Presidents)

The Leadership Advisory Committee (Division Presidents) was formed to increase communication, input and interaction with Division leadership. The Committee meets quarterly, usually via teleconference and at the Ohio ACTE Annual Conference.

The Assembly of Delegates meeting will take place July 31.

Leadership and Empowerment Meeting:  1:00 - 3:00 pm

Assembly of Delegates: 3:15 - 4:30 pm.

Membership Committee

Each Division is asked to appoint one member of the Division to serve on the Ohio ACTE Membership Committee.  If you have not submitted your Division appontee, they can still participate.

Division Awards - Due April 30

Each Division chooses the following Division Award Winners, based on criteria established by the Division.  Each Division chooses ONE Distinguished Service Award Winner, as described below, and TWO Division Award Winners, as described below.  Send your Division Award Winners to Stephanie Haas, membership@Ohioacte.org.

 

Ohio ACTE Distinguished Service Awards – The purpose of the Distinguished Service Award is to encourage and recognize superior teaching and/or other professional commitment within each Division of Ohio ACTE.  These Awards are presented to individuals in each division who have made the highest contributions to improvement promotion, development and progress of career technical and adult education. Each Division selects its Distinguished Service Award recipient.

 

Ohio ACTE Pacesetter Awards – The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership or innovative program achievements through service to Ohio ACTE. Each Ohio ACTE Division selects TWO Pacesetter recipients.  

 

Leadership Opportunities

 

Ohio ACTE Executive Board.  One of the best ways you can help shape the future of Career-Technical and Adult Education in Ohio is through service as an Ohio ACTE Officer.

 

Officers are elected by their peers, and the election takes place at the Ohio ACTE Annual Meeting (July 31 - August 2, Easton, Columbus) or by mail ballot.

For the 2013 election, members will select a President Elect (who will serve as president) and Secretary.  The President Elect term is three years (one year as President-Elect, one year as President of Ohio ACTE and one year as Past President) and the Secretary position is for a two-year term.

If you are interested in running for office, please contact Christine Gardner, christine@ohioacte.org or by calling 614/890-ACTE (2283).  Deadline to submit a letter of interest is April 15, 2013.

Shoemaker CTE Institute.  Divisions are encouraged to select a member from their Division to participate in the 2013-2014 Shoemaker Leadership Institute and provide a scholarship for a member to participate.

Annual Conference Session Proposals - Closed for 2013

Divisions are asked to provide at least one general breakout session appropriate for all CT educators to understand the specific area of CTE.  Divisions can also do an entire track devoted to the Division area of CT education, which will be open to all attendees.  The online proposal information form and more informmtion can be accessed here, or contact Division to discuss a Division Track (even if it is past Feb. 1).  

Ohio ACTE State Educator Awards - Closed for 2013

Please help recognize the members of your Division worthy of recognition for their dedication to students, the community, their innovative instruction, guidance or as a new CTE teacher.  While nominations do not have to come through a Division, you are asked to identify and nominate your colleagues.
