Sharing Research- and Evidence-based Strategies to Increase the Participation of Under-represented Students in STEM Pathways:  A Workshop for Participating STEM Equity Pipeline Project Team Members and Others Invested in Equity in STEM

Attend this workshop to gain innovative strategies, new tools and resources to recruit and retain under-represented students, especially females, into STEM pathways. Members of the 14 teams who have been trained throughout Ohio plus others interested in learning more about the positive effects of this project, and best practices from the field, are invited to attend this exciting and interactive workshop. Learn how a research-based Ohio-tested program improvement process is changing student participation rates in STEM.  Ohio has become a leader in the work of the STEM Equity Pipeline Project, which is administered in Ohio through Columbus State Community College in collaboration with the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) and The Ohio Department of Education (ODE).  This project has achieved great success in helping collaborative teams of secondary and post-secondary educators and administrators develop evidence- and research-based strategies to effectively recruit under-represented students, especially females, into their STEM pathways, and provide supports to help them to persist and eventually complete their STEM programs.

Registration is free.  Please click the register button on the left to RSVP.

For questions about this workshop, please contact Dr. Ben Williams at bwilli03@cscc.edu or (614)287-5689.

This workshop is being held in conjunction with the Ohio ACTE Connections to Education Conference (July 31 - August 2). Participants of this workshop are invited to stay and attend the opening network event from 5:00pm  - 7:00pm on July 31.

Participants are encouraged to stay for the whole conference.  If you plan on staying for the rest of the conference, you must pay the conference registration fee.
