Equity Lab Available to Develop Federal Local Equitable Access Plan

February 23, 2022 1:13 PM | Anonymous

The Department of Education is hosting an Equity Lab to help school leaders develop the district or school’s Local Equitable Access Plan. At the lab, participants will learn how to use the Equitable Access Analysis Tool and Equity Gap Analysis Tool. The tools help leaders find equity gaps, conduct a root cause analysis and identify strategies to address gaps while also setting a goal to measure progress.

Team members who will be working on their district or school plan should attend the lab. Teams can include, but are not limited to, superintendents, principals, teachers, human resources personnel, federal programs personnel, parents and community partners.

Attendees can register for a virtual lab on any of the following dates:

  • March 10;
  • March 14;
  • March 17;
  • March 23.

Each team member should register individually for the lab using this form.

The Local Equitable Access Plan is a federally mandated plan that school and district leaders must send to the Department by March 31. Learn more on the Department’s website.
