2019 Scholarship Winners

Bella Marie Jones says she has loved "doing anything with hair since I was a little girl." Her choice to study cosmetology at Auburn Career Center was a home run. "Learning all of the actual techniques has made me love it even more," she says.

"The cosmetology program at Auburn Career Center has challenged me to work hard for my goals," Bella said. "It showed me that cosmetology and working in a salon is my passion."

After high school, Bella plans to study business at Bowling Green State University with the goal of owning her own salon in the future.

Kristiana Alexus McDaniel is studying Healthcare Administration at Pike County Career Technology Center.

"Before attending Pike County CTC, I didn't know what profession I would one day pursue," Kristiana said. "I've been introduced to so many new and exciting opportunities during my time here. The longer I was in my business management class, the more I fell in love with the mechanics of business."

During her high school career, Kristiana served for four years on Student Council, and played both basketball and softball at the varsity level. She has also been a part of Business Professionals of America (BPA) where she was elected local class president and treasurer of her Business Management Program.

After high school, Kristiana is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration at Shawnee State University, with the goal of having a long career within the Mercy Health system in Cincinnati.

We wish both Bella and Kristiana the very best as they graduate this spring, and look forward to following your bright futures!
