Christine Gardner, with her smile and welcoming personality, embraced the world of Career Technical Education and dedicated herself to the work of Ohio ACTE.  She has made lasting impacts in Ohio advocating for our schools and educators.  Chris cared deeply about her work and was proud to represent Ohio ACTE.  During her 16-year tenure, she moved CTE to the forefront with her many accomplishments.  Chris and Ohio ACTE established the Student Showcase in the Statehouse Capital Atrium highlighting CTE programs and students, co-sponsoring the event with OACTS and Ohio CCS. She also worked closely with OACTS and Ohio CCS to make sure messages to legislators were aligned and coherent. She truly valued this collaboration.  Chris presented at conferences nationally and internationally about Career Technical Education as well as represented CTE on a variety of statewide committees.  Chris was passionate about her work with the Byrl. R Shoemaker CTE Leadership Institute that she launched after Byrl's passing in 2012.  Christine has left behind a great legacy, and Ohio ACTE Leadership will ensure we continue on with her work.
