The Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education needs members to be involved! There are opportunities for you to help lead, plan and/or advise Ohio ACTE projects and programs.

Annual Conference Planning Committee: This committee works together and with Ohio ACTE staff to plan and execute the Annual Ohio ACTE Conference.
- Minimum participation: Attend monthly virtual meetings from October – July and attend the Conference held in Columbus in July.
- Other participation: Committee members are asked to participate as they can on teams within the committee as needed. For example: Social events, registration greeters, presenter/session monitors, etc.
- Number of Members: 10-15
Teacher Member Services Committee: This committee works to identify and recommend to Ohio ACTE leadership benefits, services, and activities that would be helpful to teacher members of Ohio ACTE.
- Minimum participation: This committee will meet virtual as needed and in person if desired or in conjunction with other meetings; it is anticipated the committee will initially meet virtually on a monthly basis.
- Other participation: Committee members will be asked to help launch and implement any approved activities as they are able.
- Number of Members: 10-15 members, preferably representing all different potential audience members.
Student Statehouse Showcase Planning/Implementation Team: This team works to plan the Student Showcase held at the Ohio ACTE Statehouse every other year (will hold it in 2023). This includes reviewing programs, working with selected schools/students and helping with overall event both planning and onsite.
- Minimum participation: The team will meet virtually every month to every other month as needed and members are expected to provide outreach and liaison with selected schools attend and help with the event (date still to be determined).
- Number of Members: 5-10 members preferably representing teachers, administrators and support programs.
Student Scholarship and Award Review Committee: This committee reviews the student scholarship applicants and helps choose the recipients.
- Minimum participation: There are no scheduled meetings; Members are asked to confidentially review the applications for each category/scholarship and submit their input. Members will be given the information and asked to complete the task in 1-2 weeks time; Time commitment depends on number of nominations received, but is typically between 2-5 hours.
- Number of Members: Unlimited members, preferably representing each of the Divisions and other CTE programs.
Awards Committee: This committee reviews the awards nominations and votes on winners, as well as attends and helps with the Awards Ceremony at the Annual Conference, if possible.
- Minimum participation: There are no scheduled meetings; Members are asked to confidentially review the nominations for each category and submit their input. Members will be given the information and asked to complete the task in 1-2 weeks time; Time commitment depends on number of nominations received, but is typically between 2-5 hours.
- Number of Members: Unlimited members, preferably representing each of the Divisions and other CTE programs.
Each
committee member will serve one year with the ability to continue
service on the committee the following year, if desired. Fill out this form to indicate your interest.
